Located in the immeasurable plains of Patagonia, the Rio Santa Cruz offers what may be the last untapped steelhead fishing on the planet. Steelhead have often been credited as being one of the hardest fighting migratory fish and the Santa Cruz speciments are no exception. Fish here can reach well over 20 lbs and will put your tackle and angling skill to the test. Chasing these fish in this spectacular landscape is truly a profound experience. • • • The Santa Cruz is one the biggest rivers in Argentina. However, like in most cases, steelhead here can be found on the edges. Double hand rods and intruder flies feature in the fishing routine and the program targets shallow runs and breaks. • • • Tres Amigos offers four different beats and over 30 named pools. Guests rotate among the different zones to fish the most productive pools and runs. While all beats and pools are accessible by boat, several popular pools are also accessible by truck and are only a few minutes away from the lodge. 17-foot Zodiacs with 70hp outboards and pickup trucks are used for transportation in and along the river.
