Haida Gwaii, British Columbia | Rainforest Winter Steelhead

Known as the Canadian Galapagos, Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) offers the rare opportunity to pursue unpressured wild steelhead in a pristine, ancient coastal rainforest, one of the planet's most unique environments. • • • The Copper Bay program features an intriging variety of rivers; of particular interest is the Yakoun. Over 35 percent of all returning adult Yakoun River steelhead are three-salt fish, and 30 percent are four-salts — the river's fish can be as big as in any other BC watershed. • • • Operated by the same crew that runs Frontier Farwest on the Bulkley River.

Season: January through March

Target rivers: Yakoun, Copper, Pallant, Mamin and others

Program capacity: 4 anglers; 2 anglers per guide

Inquire for 2018 rate and availability

Standard package: 6 days guided fishing, 7 nights accommodation, all meals, airport pickup/dropoff in Sandspit
